
Celia E. Hill was born December 30, 1902 in Lexington, Kentucky and departed this life May 3, 1994. She was the daughter of the late George and Mary Saunders Washington.
She confessed a hope in Christ at the age of nine and joined the Star of Bethlehem Church in 1911, and remained faithful and loyal until her health prevented her from attending. Mother Hill served in Church as a Missionary and was President Emeritus of the Missionary Society, Deaconess, Secretary, Sunday School Teacher, Superintendent of the Sunday School and Church Mother. She was a member of The Helping Hands Club.
She was United in Holy Matrimony to Elder John S. Hill Sr. Unto this union seven children were born.
She leaves to mourn her passing three daughters-Esther Parsons, Ruth Samuels and Rebecca Garrard; three sons-George (Lek) Hill, James Hill, and Charles (Gladys) Hill Sr. She was preceded in death by a son John S. Hill Jr., and a sister-Anna Turley. Other survivors are 29 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great grandchildren, and a host of cousins and other relatives and friends.
