Bishop Raymond Ross, Jr. Biographical Sketch

Bishop Ross is a native of Lexington, Ky is the first born of five children the late Bishop Raymond Ross, Sr. and Beverly Ross. Bishop Ross was raised in a home where he learned at an early age to read the bible and pray. Growing up being a preacher's kid ( PK) was not always easy. Standards were high, but little did he know that this was the making of who he is today.


He was educated in the Fayette County Public School System. He loved to play basketball and was allowed to play for his elementary, middle and high school teams. He graduated from Bryan Station High School and earned an athletic scholarship to play basketball at Sioux Empire College in Hawarden, Iowa. He still has a passion for the game today ( old school ). Bishop Ross completed courses from Moody Bible Institute.


After returning home from college, Bishop Ross married his high school sweetheart, Pamela Granville on August 11, 1979. To this union two sons Raymond Ross, III and David C. Ross.


Bishop Ross accepted his calling into the ministry in April, 1983. In 1988 Bishop Ross went to Columbia, Ky to pastor St Paul Baptized Pentecostal Church. Although the membership was small, the people were faithful. They were great encouragement to Bishop Ross and his family he pastored there for eleven years. He was appointed pastor of the Star of Bethlehem Baptized Pentecostal Church in June 1999.


Besides being a pastor, Bishop Ross works a full-time job at Members Heritage Credit Union and a part of Build. Balancing pastoral duties, work, husband and fatherhood is often challenging, but the Lord gives him the strength to carry out his different roles.


What he enjoys most about being a pastor is teaching people the Word of God. He has truly developed a servant's heart and love for God's people.
